The Quiet Riot

This assembly, sponsored by the Home and School Association, was created by two brothers, Dave and Bill Mettler.  Using an amplification system and dramatization, the program explored the four qualities a school needs to create the most effective learning environment.  Respect, belonging, choice and fun were the qualities to support violence prevention and conflict resolution.

Using stories in the performance, each of these qualities was explored.  The audience could see that a win/win resolution involves recognizing and filling these four needs in each person.  The performances celebrated the uniqueness of each individual, strength in diversity, and the wisdom within  interdependence.

The assemblies took place on Thursday, February 10th.   The junior high had a separate assembly from the elementary children.
