ELMERINDA 'ELLIE' FALCONE
BOROUGH COUNCIL
Serving on the Gibbsboro Borough Council "would
be a natural next step" for our friend and longtime resident,
Ellie Falcone. Her many volunteer activities and public service
are what each of us strive for as neighbors, friends and family.
"Our children grow up in a town in which they feel safe
and as citizens we share a sense of fellowship that I want to
see continue."
When Ellie moved to Gibbsboro 39 years ago
she became actively involved in many organizations related to
the interests of her children and her community. In asking Ellie
about her greatest achievements she quickly responds with a smile,
"my children, and my grandchildren.' She is the proud mother
of Thomas, Angelo and Alex.and the grandmother of six; two attending
Gibbsboro Elementary School and Andrea a junior at Eastern High
School. Ellie can easily be spotted at her grandchildren's soccer
games or at Andreas's softball games.
A current member of the Gibbsboro Board of
Education Ellie is completing her fourth term, she was a volunteer
for the Read Across America program last year and has served
as a member or an officer in many of Gibbsboro's organizations.
A member of St. Andrews Church she is in the Church Choir and
is part of the Singing Angels, a group that sings at nursing
homes and senior centers. Whether it is the organizer of the
Red Cross Blood Bank for five years to picketing in the 1970's
to prevent the expansion of the Buzby Landfill (Dump the Dump),
patrolling in Town Watch, Ellie has most likely been involved.
From room mother to den mother to the PTA or the Gibbsboro Women's
Club, or serving hot dogs and soda at the Little League Field
she is truly Gibbsboro's gold medallist.
Ellie is seeking a seat on Borough Council
because she would like to see a greater emphasis on "WE'
not 'us versus they." She believes a mainly one party council
does not reflect the diversity needed in small town government.
Her long history of community service and love of Gibbsboro is
a positive example for our council and Gibbsboro's future.
Keep Gibbsboro's Council Balanced
by electing Ellie
and her running mate, Joe Fallon to Council.
You will find them in Column 1, November 7, 2000
