Salina Cantu
Salina is a 1st grader in Mrs. Dover's class at the Gibbsboro School. Our budding young poet has already won a poetry prize for School Spirit Week in the first grade category. She is chalking up her second prize with a poem entitled "The Trail". Salina gets her inspiration from her love of animals, especially horses, and long walks in the woods.
The Trail

When I was walking down a trail
I saw a little buggys tail.
Then I saw a little stream
Then I thought I saw a sun beam.
Then I saw a real big horse
He was going to the shores.
I see there a lot of wood
I'd bring some home if I could.
Then I looked up at the trees
Then I saw a lot of bees.
I looked up at all the flowers
I looked at them for hours and hours.
